ioSafe's patented FloSafe cooling vent technology provides air-flow cooling to dissipate heat during normal operation. This is a critical difference between ioSafe's design and other manufactures. Without air flow, electronic equipment which develops heat will continue to increase in temperature. Eventually the heat will cause the electronics to fail, shortening its useable life span.
Since protection from outside destructive heat during a disaster required insulation around the electronics, disaster protection designs without air flow only make managing the internal operating heat a larger problem. With the ioSafe FloSafe vents however, normal cooling air flow is provided during operations. When destructive heat levels are detected, the FloSafe vents close to protect the electronics inside. ioSafe as designed the FloSafe vents to work independent of electrical power -- which can often be unavailable during disasters.
